Robin Hood’s Bay

Getting Help in an Emergency

For any emergency, please dial 999 and ask for the appropriate Emergency Service - Ambulance, Fire or Police.  If someone is in danger on the coast or in the sea, then please ask for the Coastguard.

Robin Hoods Bay has three defibrillators.  One is located outside the Bay Hotel in the Dock (access code: C159X). There is one by the toilets just before the steep hill down to the old village (access code: 9999), and another is located at the back of Doctor's surgery (access code 9999), located to one side of the Station Road carpark.   In accordance with the chain of survival please call 999 as soon as practicably possible and request the Ambulance service.

If medical help is required but it is not an immediate emergency, please call 111.  They will then be able to advise you on what to do next and where to get the most appropriate care

Robin Hoods Bay falls in the catchment area for two hospitals, both of which have Accident and Emergency departments. Whitby has an Urgent Care Centre that can deal with most none Emergency Cases.  Please see Whitby Urgent Treatment Centre for more information on facilities and opening times etc.
